...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL ST.
CHARLES, WEST CENTRAL ORLEANS AND NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON PARISHES
THROUGH 1215 PM CDT
...

At 1140 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
St. Rose, or near Metairie. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
New Orleans, Metairie, Marrero, Harvey, Avondale, Jefferson, Gretna,
Harahan, Westwego, Elmwood, Bridge City, River Ridge, Ama, Destrehan,
Waggaman, New Sarpy, St. Rose, Luling, and New Orleans Armstrong
Airport.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 215 and 236.
 Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 8.
 Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 3.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
