Hydrologic Statement
National Weather Service Elko NV
437 AM PDT Thu May 16 2024

...Warm temperatures continue to accelerate snowmelt on the
remaining mountain snowpack, resulting in higher flows on area
creeks and rivers...

Melting of high elevation snow pack continues to accelerate this
week as temperatures rise to around 5 to 10 degrees above normal.
Overnight low temperatures at higher elevations where snowpack
remains may not fall below freezing for the next several nights.
With the increased snow melt and runoff, area rivers and creeks
will see enhanced flows. If and when river gauge water levels
reach action stage or higher, additional hydrologic products will
be issued.

Outdoor enthusiasts should use caution as the water is very cold
and a person could be swept away by the fast flowing water.
