Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 30.2 inch high pressure ridge extending from the Lower Great Lakes to the Carolinas will drift east today. Meanwhile, a 29.9 inch low pressure trough over Manitoba and the eastern Dakotas will shift east, dissipating while moving over Lake Superior tonight. On Sunday, weak 30.0 inch high pressure ridging will develop across the western Great Lakes. As the ridge shifts to Quebec and the Lower Great Lakes during Sunday night, a 29.6 inch trough will sweep across the Northern Plains to Minnesota. On Monday, this trough will dissipate before reaching Lake Superior, leaving Lake Superior between 30.0 inch ridging over Quebec into New England and a new trough of 29.4 inches emerging over the western Dakotas. On Tuesday, 29.2 inch low pressure tracking across the Canadian Prairies will power the trough eastward to the Upper Mississippi Valley. The trough will then sail across Lake Superior Tuesday night and Wednesday morning while the parent low pressure tracks from the Canadian Prairies to northern Ontario.
