Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Troughing of 29.3 inches early this morning weakens
as a secondary trough of 29.4 inches moves through Lake Superior
today before leaving late this afternoon. The troughing over Lake
Superior weakens to 29.6 inches by Friday as the parent low,
currently 29.2 inches just southwest of Hudson Bay, fills to 29.4
inches over southern James Bay. Weak troughing at 29.7 inches
remains in place over Lake Superior Saturday before ridging near
30.0 inches pushes into the lake late Sunday as a high pressure
shifts into the Canadian Prairies. The ridge builds to 30.1 inches
over Lake Superior Monday morning as the high moves overhead and
deteriorates with time.
