...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...
  Tidal Potomac from Key Bridge to Indian Head MD...

At 449 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was
located along a line extending from near Tidal Basin to near Mason
Neck State Park to 10 nm west of Leesylvania State Park, moving east
at 25 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
