...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 AM EDT...

For the following areas...
S of Cape Lookout NC to Surf City NC out to 20 nm...
S of Ocracoke Inlet NC to Cape Lookout NC out to 20 nm...

At 619 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts
was located over R-8 Buoy, or near Cape Lookout, moving northeast at
20 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
         higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
R-8 Buoy, Cape Lookout Bight, Cape Lookout, and Ar285.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
