The National Weather Service in Paducah has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Daviess County in northwestern Kentucky...
  McLean County in northwestern Kentucky...
  Webster County in northwestern Kentucky...

* Until 215 AM CDT.

* At 959 PM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding in
  Owensboro with numerous city streets flooded and a stranded
  motorist on Carter Road. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have
  fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Owensboro, Providence, Calhoun, Sebree, Livermore, Clay, Dixon,
  Whitesville, St. Joseph, Beech Grove, Stanley, Masonville,
  Knottsville, Sacramento, Island, Wheatcroft, Moseleyville and
  Pleasant Ridge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
