A destructive straight-line wind event moved into Dexter, Missouri early
Sunday morning. This surge of stronger winds appears to have led to
the organization of a fairly long track EF2 tornado that began near
Highway 60 and Main Street. The city road maintenance building
sustained significant damage as well as a restaurant in the area. Hundreds
of trees were snapped and uprooted and many trees fell onto buildings
and caused damage. Peak winds were estimated at 100 mph.
