...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT
FOR CENTRAL JACKSON...EAST CENTRAL BOLLINGER...SOUTHEASTERN PERRY AND
NORTHWESTERN CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTIES...

At 806 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Murphysboro to near Altenburg to near
Burfordville, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Carbondale, Murphysboro, Bollinger Mill State Historic Site, De Soto,
Grand Tower, Altenburg, Burfordville, Millersville, Frohna, Oak
Ridge, Gorham, and Pocahontas.

This includes Interstate 55 between Mile Markers 107 and 114.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for southern
Illinois...and southeastern Missouri.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
