This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north central North Carolina,
northwest North Carolina, central Virginia, south central Virginia,
southwest Virginia and west central Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

There is a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe thunderstorms
this afternoon and evening. The main hazard today with any
thunderstorms will be damaging winds gusts. Locally heavy rainfall
is also possible with the stronger thunderstorms, which could result
in localized flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

There is a "slight" risk (level 2 of 5) for severe thunderstorms
Monday, mainly during the afternoon and evening. Large hail and
damaging wind gusts will be the main hazards. Again, locally heavy
rainfall is also possible with the stronger thunderstorms increasing
the threat for localized flooding.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Limited spotter activation is possible today and tonight. There is a
greater chance for spotter activation across the region Monday
afternoon. Please provide any reports of severe thunderstorms and
flooding to the National Weather Service through one of the following
means; by calling 1-866-215-4324, through our social media
platforms, by email at rnk.skywarn@noaa.gov, or online through our
"submit a storm report" located at www.weather.gov/blacksburg.
