564 AGUS76 KRSA 281532 HMDRSA Hydrometeorological Discussion National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA 830 AM PDT Tue May 28 2024 ...ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN NEAR ORCA BORDER AND ALONG THE SIERRA AND OVER NRN AND ERN NV TODAY AND MAINLY OVER ERN NV WEDNESDAY AS A SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH THE NORTH... ...GENERALLY DRY CONDITIONS THURSDAY INTO THE WEEKEND... .METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (TUE AM - MON AM)... Upper level shortwave trough along the B.C. coast down to the Nrn CA coast this morning will progress inland today and into the Great Basin Wednesday. This will bring some instability and some moisture over the area for a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms over the crest of the Srn OR Cascades and Mt Shasta area and NE CA Plateau and down along the Sierra (mainly Central and Srn Sierra) and over into Northern and Eastern NV today. Precipitation amounts generally expected to be less than a tenth of an inch. Showers possible mainly over eastern NV Wednesday as the systems continues to move east. Max temperatures near normal to 10 degrees above normal except below normal up to 10 degrees along the coast (with marine influence). Overnight temperatures generally near normal to around 10 degrees above normal (especially over SE CA and NV). Weak ridging over the eastern Pacific between systems with weak disturbances moving through Thursday and Friday for generally dry conditions (slight chance of isolated showers/tstorms along Central/Srn Sierra) and warmer temperatures. Max temps warm up to near normal to 15 degrees above normal Thursday and Friday. Overnight temperatures warming up to 15 degrees above normal Thursday night and Friday night. Weak shortwave trough moves through the region over the weekend increasing onshore flow. Max temps then cool down to near normal to 10 degrees above normal except below normal up to 10 degrees along the coast over the weekend. Overnight temperatures generally near normal to around 10 degrees above normal. Heights rise over the region early-mid week next week warming high temperatures up to 10 to 20 degrees above normal and near normal along the coast.
