...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia...

  Withlacoochee River near Quitman (US 84) affecting Lowndes and
  Brooks Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

The next statement will be issued Thursday morning at 945 AM EDT.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Withlacoochee River near Quitman (US 84).

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 110.0 feet, In Lowndes County, Beaver Run Road, Spain
  Ferry Road, and Old Quitman Highway are flooded. Water will
  approach structures along Old Quitman Highway on the Brooks County
  side of the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 108.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:30 PM EDT Wednesday was 108.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late Sunday morning and continue falling to 101.7 feet Monday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 104.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    108.5 feet on 05/05/1964.
