...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of northwestern Clinton,
southwestern Jackson, northern Cedar and southeastern Jones Counties
through 130 AM CDT...

At 1239 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Mount Vernon to near Tipton. Movement was
northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Maquoketa, Anamosa, Mechanicsville, Stanwood, Lowden, Olin, Delmar,
Wyoming, Oxford Junction, Lost Nation, Martelle, Onslow, Monmouth,
Toronto, Morley, Center Junction, Nashville, Clarence, Baldwin, and
Lyons.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
