At 459 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles east of Lincolnton, or 4 miles southwest of Westport, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Lake Norman and Lowesville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near Lake Norman, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle.
