...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN COCKE AND
SOUTHEASTERN SEVIER COUNTIES THROUGH 345 PM EDT...

At 302 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Smoky Mountains-Newfound Gap, or near Gatlinburg, moving northeast at
20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Smoky Mountains-Newfound Gap,
Pittman Center, Cosby, Harrisburg, Elkmont, Great Smoky Mountains
National Park, and Fairgarden.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Occasional cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
