Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop by later in the day, initially over the mountains and then move off into the plains by later in the afternoon and through the evening. These will be mainly north of Highway 50. There is low confidence that storms will become stronger or possibly severe. The area most likely for this to occur would be over the Ramparts and Pikes Peak Region. If this does occur, there may be some hail of possibly an inch in diameter, as well as some gusty outflow winds up to 60 mph. Higher elevation snow will result in additional snowfall totals of 3 to 5 inches for the Sawatch Range and northern Sangre de Cristo Mountains, with lesser amounts expected across the rest of the higher elevations through tonight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Enhanced fire danger is expected for portions of the area on Thursday. There will be a slightly better chance for showers and thunderstorms across the central mountains, Pikes Peak region and the Palmer Divide Friday through Sunday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be possible over portions of the region. $$ STEWARD/27
