Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
339 PM CDT Tue May 28 2024

An area of showers and scattered thunderstorms moved across south
central Kansas this morning and again during the afternoon hours.
Otherwise it was mostly cloudy across much of central and
southeast Kansas and mostly sunny in northeast Kansas. Late
afternoon temperatures ranged from the upper 70s to the lower 80s,
except for upper 60s to lower 70s in the rain-cooled areas.

Surface high pressure will generally keep eastern portions of
mid-America dry later tonight through Wednesday, including most
of Iowa and Missouri, as well as eastern Nebraska and northeast
Kansas. Chances for showers and a few thunderstorms will remain
in the forecast further to the south and west across the rest of
Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

Low temperatures tonight will generally fall into the 50s or
lower 60s, except for cooler upper 40s in parts of Iowa and
Nebraska. Highs on Wednesday will climb into the 70s and 80s
across the heartland.
