...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN JOHNSON COUNTY
THROUGH 530 PM MDT...

At 505 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles southwest of Buffalo, moving north at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern
Johnson County, including the following locations... South Fork
Campground, Buffalo Johnson County Airport, Lost Cabin Campground,
and Johnson County Fairgrounds.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 25 between mile markers 286 and 299.
 Interstate 90 between mile markers 45 and 60.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
