Fire Weather Planning Forecast for New Mexico and Far West Texas

.DISCUSSION...
We will have an extended period of elevated fire weather
conditions through at least Sunday. Each day this week, we will
see min RH near or below 5% in the lowlands and near 10% in area
mountains. Max RH recoveries at night will be poor, with max RH`s
ranging from 10 to 25% in the lowlands and 20 to 30% in area
mountains. Each afternoon our winds will stay just below critical
levels, but they will be breezy and gusty. We may see an uptick in
winds on Saturday as a weak upper level storm system moves across
the area so we may see critical fire weather conditions that day.
Still no sign of any rain chances as we begin to wind the month of
May up.
