A cold front is sweep across the region early this morning. At 430
AM this morning, the front was stretched from central Iowa, across
northwestern Missouri, and into central Kansas moving quickly
southeastward. Temperatures behind the front are in the 50s and
low 60s while temperatures ahead of the front are in the low to
mid 70s. Showers and storms across the mid-Missouri River Valley
this morning are quickly moving eastward and should exit the
region later this morning. Temperatures this afternoon will
generally be in the 70s to low 80s across Mid-America. Dry
conditions are expected to continue tonight, and lows will be in
the upper 40s to mid 50s.

For Saturday, warmer temperatures return as afternoon highs range
from the mid 70s across northern Missouri to the mid 90s across
southwest Kansas. Thunderstorms appear possible across the central
plains Saturday afternoon, some of which could be severe. If
storms develop, they would most likely impact central portions of
Kansas and Nebraska before moving eastward into Missouri during
the nighttime hours. Lows Saturday night will generally be in the
50s and 60s across the region.
