.NOW...
Through 12 pm, an outflow boundary extends from the offshore Gulf
waters south through the Lower Keys and into the central Straits of
Florida. As this boundary continues propagating to the west near 10
knots, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to
wax and wane along the boundary. Most of this activity was moving to
the east near 5 knots or less with the activity over the offshore
Gulf waters and the distant Straits of Florida moving east at 10 to
15 knots. Mariners encountering the stronger portions of this
activity near the Middle and Lower Keys can expect pockets of
moderate to heavy rainfall reducing visibilities to lower than 1
mile, wind gusts up to near 30 knots, and frequent lightning strikes.
Island communities can expect up to an additional half to one inch
of rainfall with an additional half to 1 inch for Vaca Key. Locally
heavier rainfall amounts are possible, especially just east of Boca
Chica Key where more several inches of rainfall are anticipated. The
more vigorous activity will be covered with Special Marine Warnings.
