302 FZUS63 KMQT 250744 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 344 AM EDT Sat May 25 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.4 inch low pressure near Lake Winnipeg will continue to move an associated 29.6 inch trough across the lake into the morning. In its wake, a 29.8 inch high pressure builds northeast into the upper Great Lakes region into the afternoon. The high then shifts toward the mouth of the St. Lawrence River on Sunday as the next low pressure of around 29.4 inches lifts northeast into southern Wisconsin. This low deepens to 29.3 inches as it tracks across northern lower Michigan Monday morning and then into western Quebec by Tuesday morning. In its wake, a 30.2 inch high pressure builds over the Northern Plains on Tuesday. This high pressure continues building to 30.3 inches by Wednesday as it shifts into the Upper Great Lakes.
