At 809 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms had produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Heavy rain has ended, but runoff may continue to result in flash flooding. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Rough Run... Upper Tract... Brushy Run... Landes... Deer Run... Dorcas... This includes the following Flood Prone Roads... Highway 9 at North Mill Creek and US 220 along North Mill Creek. While the heaviest rain fell in Pendleton County, high water may flow northward along North Mill Creek and South Mill Creek into Grant County. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
