...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN JEFFERSON...COCKE...
CENTRAL GREENE AND SOUTHEASTERN HAMBLEN COUNTIES THROUGH 500 PM
EDT...

At 400 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Dandridge to near Newport to 7 miles west
of Smoky Mountains-Big Creek. Movement was northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Morristown, Greeneville, Newport, Tusculum, White Pine, Baneberry,
Parrottsville, Smoky Mountains-Big Creek, Mosheim, and Bulls Gap.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Occasional cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
