...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Friday)
Issued at 112 AM CDT Thu May 30 2024

After a seasonably cool start with most areas in the 50s, we will
enjoy another beautiful day across Middle TN. Lots of sunshine
and comfortable humidity levels will accompany high temps in the
70s to around 80. The main difference from yesterday will be
lighter winds.

Surface high pressure centered over the Great Lakes will keep our
wx very nice for tonight and Friday as well. Northwest flow aloft
will give way to a narrow upper ridge, so temperatures will warm
several degrees for Friday with most locations reaching the lower
to mid 80s.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday Night through next Thursday)
Issued at 112 AM CDT Thu May 30 2024

We continue to look for a pattern change starting Friday night
with warmer, humid, and more unsettled conditions developing and
continuing through the weekend and much of next week. A series of
slow moving systems will add periods of lift and weak
instability, The result will be chances for scattered showers and
a few thunderstorms each day, mainly in the afternoon and evening
hours. Thankfully, we are not seeing any indications of severe wx
at this time. In general, 1 to 2 inches of rain can be expected
Friday night through the middle of next week, but with moisture-
rich air in place, some spots could pick up more with local heavy
downpours possible at times. Muggy conditions will take hold with
lows mostly in the 60s and highs mostly lower to mid 80s.

Extended models show a cold front coming late week followed by
another shot of pleasant, dry air the weekend of June 8-9.
