Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
622 AM PDT Fri May 31 2024

.DISCUSSION...A transient upper level ridge will pass through the
area today, bringing with it warmer and drier conditions. Mostly
sunny skies will ensue, but clouds will increase tonight into
Saturday as a weak system brings breezy afternoon winds along the
east slopes of the Cascades, Simcoe Highlands, portions of the
Basin, and Kittitas Valley with gusts between 25-35 mph. A more
robust system is poised to move in Sunday afternoon through Monday,
providing widespread rainfall, isolated thunderstorms over our
eastern mountains, and winds nearing advisory level across the
Simcoe Highlands, Kittitas Valley, and portions of the Basin.

***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
