.DISCUSSION...
Seasonably cool and dry weather will continue in the Pahsimeroi
Mountains today outside of a slight chance of showers this
afternoon and evening. Those chances will steadily increase
throughout the day Wednesday as a cold front brings widespread
precipitation to central Idaho. The bulk of this moisture will
fall Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning with a storm
total liquid amount of around 0.25-0.5" with around a T-2" of snow
below 7000 feet and 2-5" above 7000 feet with locally higher
totals on summits and ridgelines. As this storm departs later in
the day Thursday into Friday, a secondary more quick moving system
will arrive for Saturday into early Sunday with another round of
showers and storms. To round out Memorial Day Weekend, a high
pressure ridge will begin to build in overhead which will support
warmer and drier conditions to return for much of next week. This
will likely be the warmest airmass we have seen so far this year
with highs in the 60s/70s in the mountains.
