...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including Alamance,
  Durham, Granville, Orange and Person counties

* WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas,
  including on streets and in urban locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 642 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Durham, Burlington, Graham, Oxford, Roxboro, Hillsborough,
    Creedmoor, Mebane, Butner, Rougemont, Elon, Concord,
    Gibsonville, Haw River, Stem, Bushy Fork, Schley, Surl,
    Bahama and Moriah.
  - Little River and Flat River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
