...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 AM EDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northwest North Carolina, including the
  following county, Watauga.

* WHEN...Until 245 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1142 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
    flooding is ongoing. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Dutch Creek, Beech Creek, Brushy Fork, Beaverdam Creek,
    Hoskin Fork, Grassy Gap Creek, George Gap Branch, Kirby
    Branch, Laurel Branch, Grassy Creek, Craborchard Creek and
    Cove Creek.
    Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
