The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South Central Pulaski County in central Missouri...
  Northwestern Texas County in south central Missouri...
  Southeastern Laclede County in southwestern Missouri...
  Southeastern Webster County in southwestern Missouri...
  Northern Wright County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 830 AM CDT Saturday.

* At 1243 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
  1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is
  1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
  inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
  or expected to begin shortly.  Expect increased rises on the
  Finley River, Gasconade River and Roubidoux Creek overnight.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Western Fort Leonard Wood, Seymour, Diggins, Huggins, Plato,
  Manes, Competition, Lynchburg, Falcon, Roby, Odin, Success and
  Hazelton.

This includes the following low water crossings...
  Woods Fork Gasconade River at Rippee Ford Road, Rock Creek at Rock
  Creek Road, Finley River at Highway Z, West Fork Roubidoux Creek
  at Upton Road, Finley River at Harmony Road, Elliot Branch at
  Highway NN and Elk Creek at Highway Z.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
