...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT MUNICIPALITIES OF SOUTHWESTERN
PUERTO RICO THROUGH 615 PM AST...

At 524 PM AST, public and broadcast media reported a strong
thunderstorm  and funnel-cloud near Cabo Rojo, moving southwest at
15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Brief, weak landspouts possible.

SOURCE...Public and broadcast media.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Hormigueros, San German, Cabo Rojo, Lajas, Puerto Real, Monte Grande,
Boqueron, Sabana Eneas, and Betances.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel
clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions
they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph. If a
funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the
National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in San Juan.
