652 FNUS75 KSLC 311320 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for Fence Lines Rx, Unit 5...State of Utah National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 720 AM MDT Fri May 31 2024 Forecast is based on ignition time of 0700 MDT on May 31. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...Transient weak high pressure builds over northern Utah through the day today, bringing partially stable, dry, and warm conditions over the burn site today. Elevated moisture will bring mid and high level cloud cover late this morning through much of the day, as well as isolated high-based showers. It is very unlikely (less than 5 percent chance) that any precipitation will reach the ground, however, gusty winds will still be possible with passing elevated showers. For Saturday, southwest flow will increase over the area as a weak cold front approaches Utah. Temperatures will warm under the southerly flow and relative humidity will be on the downward trend. That said, elevated moisture and deeper afternoon mixing will bring increased coverage of elevated showers. With greater coverage of showers, there is increased potential for precipitation reaching the ground, as well as an increased threat of gusty and erratic outflow winds. There is virtually zero chance for wetting rains. The aforementioned cold front is anticipated to push through the burn area around 1700, shifting winds to a northwesterly direction. .REST OF TODAY...
