.SYNOPSIS FOR THE WESTERN GULF OF ALASKA...

A 987 mb low at 57N 150W merges with an incoming North Pacific low
to form a new 975 mb low at 51N 148W on Mon morning. This low
tracks to 53N 139W at 980 mb by Tue morning. A front extends
across the northern Gulf through Mon afternoon.
