Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
313 AM MDT Sun Jun 2 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Fuels remain in greenup status across the area. A cool front moving
through the area early this afternoon will bring some breezy northwest
winds across the area, as well as another round of scattered to
numerous showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. While storm
coverage will be fairly high today, they will be fast moving and thus
widespread wetting rains are not expected. Storms will bring gusty
and erratic winds at times.

Look for another warm day Monday, and another round of PM showers
and storms across the area. The winds will start to increase Monday
as well, with strong winds in the wind prone areas possible on
Tuesday into Wednesday. Elevated fire weather conditions are possible
those days with widespread breezy to windy conditions and warm temps
leading to low RH. Expect warm and dry weather to end the week, but
precipitation chances return by next weekend.
