...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CATAWBA AND
SOUTHWESTERN IREDELL COUNTIES THROUGH 630 PM EDT...

At 606 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles southwest of Statesville, or near Lake Norman State Park,
moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lake Norman State Park, Catawba, Lake Norman, Sherrills Ford,
Terrell, and Bandys.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
