...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

  Nearshore Waters from Calumet Harbor to Michigan City...
  Open Waters from Wilmette Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid
Lake...

At 551 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located
near Indiana Harbor, moving east at 15 to 20 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Indiana Harbor, Calumet Harbor, Michigan City, Burns Harbor, Marina
Shores at Dune Harbor, and Hammond Marina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
