.DISCUSSION...
After hot and dry conditions for much of this afternoon, a cold
front stalling across the southern Texas Panhandle later today will
help spark thunderstorms that track south this evening. Severe
storms are possible with high winds in addition to some dry
thunderstorms surrounding any rainfall. Min RHs will range from the
upper teens near the New Mexico border to lower 30s farther east. Some
pockets of elevated fire weather conditions may develop on Friday over
the far SW TX Panhandle where fuels are driest and south winds are
strongest, but this threat should remain localized.
