.Discussion...
Mostly dry conditions are forecast across east central Florida
both today and Monday, though a few isolated showers cannot fully
be ruled out, especially across the Treasure Coast region.
Confidence in the potential for lightning also remains low at this
time, so have kept out thunder chances in the forecast. If any
storms do develop and a lightning strike does occur, it could
potentially lead to the start of a wildfire given how dry some
fuels are across the area. Additionally, heat concerns continue
across east central Florida today and Monday. Afternoon highs are
forecast to climb into the 90s, with peak heat indices generally
above 100. This heat will lead to minimum RH values remaining near
sensitive fire weather thresholds, generally in the 35 to 45
percent range across the interior west of I-95. Winds are forecast
to remain below 15 mph, with the development of the east coast
sea breeze and its push inland causing west-southwest winds to
become easterly. Afternoon smoke dispersion across the area will
be very good today, becoming very good to excellent on Monday.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
