.DISCUSSION...Chances for showers will gradually increase through
the afternoon and evening today. The best chance of a wetting
rain is between 5-9PM this evening as a more organized round of
showers moves through the region. Isolated to scattered rain and
snow showers are expected tonight with minimal snow accumulation
anticipated. Winds should generally remain out of the west today,
though any stronger showers or storms could briefly shift wind
directions briefly. Humidity values are near 20% already and
should hover in the 15-25% range through the rest of the day.
Another round of rain and snow showers is expected Friday into
Friday night. These will again be rather hit-or-miss through the
day with generally light precipitation amounts expected. Some
minor snow accumulation is also possible, mainly Friday evening
into Friday night. Winds will again remain fairly steady out of
the west through the period.
A more organized system is expected to bring widespread
precipitation (mainly snow) to the area, with several inches of
snow possible through the weekend. The heaviest precipitation is
forecast to fall Saturday into Saturday night. Our current
forecast calls for roughly an inch of liquid to fall from Friday
evening through Sunday morning. Snow levels remain somewhat
uncertain, but 2-5 inches of snow is forecast across the valley,
with over a foot of snow likely on the ridges just east of the
spot location.
