...River Statement For The Cahaba River at Marion Junction...

.Heavy rainfall is forecast to produce rises along the Cahaba River
at Marion Junction. However, levels are expected to remain below
established flood stages, and any overflow along the river should be
of minor nature.


The Cahaba River at Marion Junction.
* At 7:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 8.8 feet.
* Action stage is 15 feet.
* Flood stage is 36 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.7 feet
  Monday morning.
* Impact...At 15 feet...Flooding around Oakmulgee Creek begins and
  cattle need to be moved to higher ground. Overflow of pasture
  lands increases at stages above 20 feet.


Another statement will be issued by Friday morning, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
