.DISCUSSION...

Our stretch of dry conditions continues today through Monday
afternoon before a large system moves in Monday night and Tuesday,
bringing widespread chances of showers and thunderstorms. Lots of
sunshine should help our minimum RH values fall to the 20 to 30
percent range today. Winds aren`t expected to be as breezy as they
were yesterday, but the wind directions will be rather variable in
the morning as a weak front moves through the area. Eventually,
winds will become from the north to north-northwest this afternoon,
with sustained winds generally around 10 to 15 mph. A few gusts up
to 20 mph will be possible, especially in northeast Iowa.

The Grassland Fire Danger Index -GFDI- does not account for
precipitation that occurs or any snow on the ground. Please
make appropriate adjustments.
