...Synopsis...
A mid-level trough will traverse the eastern seaboard as a second
mid-level trough overspreads the Rockies and ejects into the
southern Plains today. Low-level moisture return and/or appreciable
rainfall accumulations should limit significant wildfire-spread
potential across most locales east of the Rockies. Dry downslope
flow should develop over southern New Mexico into Far West Texas as
a surface low becomes established over the southern High Plains. 15
mph sustained westerly surface winds amid 10-20 percent RH will
overspread dry fuels during the afternoon, warranting the
continuation of Elevated highlights.
