...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CDT EARLY THIS
MORNING FOR ELLIS COUNTY...

At 424 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen, and additional amounts up to
0.5 inch are possible. Flash flooding is likely ongoing.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Cedar Hill, Waxahachie, Ennis,
  Midlothian, Glenn Heights, Red Oak, Ovilla, Venus, Ferris, Palmer,
  Italy, Oak Leaf, Maypearl, Bardwell, Alma, Bardwell Lake, Rice and
  Garrett.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
