Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

Over the past 24 hours, the Tri State region has seen daytime
highs top off in the upper 60s to the lower 70s. Lows during this
time dropped mainly into the lower to mid 40s. Showers and
scattered thunderstorms did impact portions of the region during
this time. Rainfall amounts ranged from a trace up to around some
isolated two tenths of an inch in heavier showers. Also, a few of
the storms that did occur east of Highway 83 were severe with
gusts around 60 mph.

OUTLOOK... Near critical fire weather conditions are expected
this afternoon over the southwest portion of the area, as above
normal warmth and dry conditions ensue today. For tonight on into
the beginning of next week, there will be chances for
precipitation, some of which may be in the form of snow showers.
The best chances will occur tonight into Friday night.

Above normal highs today in the mid 70s to lower 80s will give
way to 50s Thursday and Friday. 40s on Saturday will give way to
mainly 60s for Sunday, with mainly 70s thereafter. Most of the
overnight periods will see 30s for lows, with 20s mixing in the
west for Friday and Saturday nights.
