Fire Weather Planning Forecast for the Florida Keys
National Weather Service Key West FL
428 AM EDT Tue May 14 2024

.Discussion...
A nocturnal surge developed during the early morning hours and has
spread across the island chain with all observation sites showing
speeds of 15 to 20 mph. This will be relatively brief as winds
will decrease through the morning and into the afternoon.
Southerly winds will continue to pump moisture rich air into the
low levels such that afternoon min RH values will hold well above
50 percent. A chance for an isolated thunderstorm or two returns
as early as Wednesday and that threat will continue into the
weekend. As of now, chances are only at 20 percent of any thunder
occurring. Otherwise, expect near record warmth and dew points in
the mid to upper 70s to persist through the forecast period.
