WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MINNESOTA

AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WAS MOVING ACROSS THE DAKOTAS LATE THIS
MORNING. A FEW SHOWERS WERE FOUND OVER PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND
WESTERN MINNESOTA AND SKIES WERE MOSTLY SUNNY OVER THE NORTHEAST
TO CLOUDY FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA. AT 11
AM TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM NEAR 70 NORTHEAST...TO THE LOW 80S
OVER MUCH OF THE CENTRAL.

THE DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE INTO MINNESOTA TONIGHT RESULTING IN A
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS OVER MUCH OF THE STATE. STRONG TO SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE SOUTHERN HALF OF
MINNESOTA...WITH LARGE HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS THE MAIN
HAZARD...ALTHOUGH A TORNADO CAN NOT BE RULED OUT. TEMPERATURES
THIS AFTERNOON WILL REACH THE MIDDLE 70S NORTH...TO THE UPPER 80S
SOUTHEAST. EXPECT LOWS TONIGHT BETWEEN THE LOW 50S NORTHEAST...AND
THE LOW 60S SOUTHEAST.

SHOWERS AND STORMS MAY LINGER INTO TUESDAY MORNING. THE
DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE OUT DURING THE DAY LEAVING A BROAD SURFACE
RIDGE IN PLACE. WITH COOLER AIR MOVING OVER THE STATE
ALOFT...THERE WILL BE SUFFICIENT INSTABILITY FOR SCATTERED SHOWERS
AND POSSIBLY A THUNDERSTORM OVER NORTHERN MINNESOTA DURING THE
AFTERNOON AND EVENING. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER 60S
NORTHEAST...TO THE UPPER 70S SOUTH.
