...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL COCKE AND
SOUTHEASTERN GREENE COUNTIES THROUGH 745 PM EDT...

At 659 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Parrottsville, or 10 miles east of Newport, moving northeast at 30
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Greeneville, Tusculum, Parrottsville, Caney Branch, Del Rio, Cedar
Creek, and Camp Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
