...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Nebraska, including the following
  counties, Cedar, Colfax, Platte, Stanton and Wayne.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1010 AM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    already occurring. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Wayne, Stanton, Laurel, Clarkson, Winside, Leigh, Pilger,
    Carroll, Belden, Sholes, Lake Maskenthine Recreation Area,
    The Highway 57 and 32 Junction, The Highway 15 And 32
    Junction, Camp Assurance and Maple Creek Recreation Area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
