...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN SCOTLAND COUNTY THROUGH
300 PM EDT...

At 205 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Clio, or near Bennettsville, moving east at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Laurinburg, Maxton, Gibson, and East Laurinburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead
to localized flooding.
