...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, including the following
  county, Lawrence and West Virginia, including the following
  counties, Boone, Cabell, Lincoln, Logan, Mingo and Wayne.

* WHEN...Until 1230 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 720 PM EDT, emergency management reported high water
    across portions of the warned area. Flooding is ongoing or
    expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Williamson, Madison, Louisa, Logan, Wayne, Blaine, Yatesville
    Lake State Park, Chapmanville, Fort Gay, Delbarton,
    Kiahsville, Dunlow, East Lynn Lake, Ranger, Harts, Gill,
    Holden, Mount Gay-Shamrock, Chattaroy and Spurlockville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
